आपको हैरानी होगी कि मुगलकाल के कुछ हुक्म और रामचरित मानस की कुछ चौपाइयों के अर्थ काफी मिलते जुलते हैं।
ऐसा भी लग सकता है, जैसे अकबर और तुलसीदास डिस्कशन करके पूरे तालमेल के साथ काम करते हों।
हालांकि, ऐसा होगा नहीं। बल्कि यह एक जैसी मानसिकता का स्वाभाविक तालमेल था।
असल में, इस देश में मुगलों का राज हो या ब्राह्मणवादी बरदहस्त हासिल करके शासन करने वालों का। ....सबने एक चीज़ लगातार कायम रखी... वह है जातिवादी घृणा।
किसी भी सत्ता को महज इसलिए काबिले तारीफ नहीं माना जा सकता कि उसने कितनी इमारतों को खूबसूरती से बनवाया। न ही किसी रचना का सरल शब्दों में लिखा जाना महान हो सकता है, जबकि उसमें घृणा बसी हो, परपीड़क भावना हो।
सच्चाई यही है कि भारतीय उपमहाद्वीप की सबसे मजबूत बिल्डिंग कास्टिज्म है, यानी जातिवाद... जिसमें तुलसीदास और मुगलों का भी भरपूर योगदान रहा है।
एक ने कथित हिंदू धर्म के बीच शूद्रों को शिक्षा से वंचित रखने और उनको सत्ता से दूर रखने का संदेश दिया तो दूसरे ने उन्हीं शूद्र जातियों से मुसलमान हुए लोगों को तालीम और दरबार का हिस्सा बनाने से महरूम रखने का हुक्म दिया।
