In this film's version of the story, four of the Reno Brothers are corrupt robbers and killers while a fifth, Clint is a respected Indiana farmer. Die vier Reno-Brüder Frank, John, Clint und Bill werden in Indiana weiterhin als Banditen gefürchtet. Zusammen mit ihren Männern rauben sie nicht nur Banken und Eisenbahnzüge aus, sondern kontrollieren auch noch die Bewohner ihrer kleinen Heimatstadt mit Terror. Um ihnen das Handwerk zu legen und dem Gesetz Geltung zu verschaffen, schleicht sich der Geheimagent James Barlow zusammen mit einem Kollegen als Bankräuber verkleidet in die Bande ein. Doch schon bald gerät der Staatsbeamte in einen schweren Gewissenskonflikt, denn nicht alle Banditen scheinen aus niederen Motiven zu handeln und er verliebt sich ausgerechnet auch noch in die hübsche Schwester der Renos...
