“Q-Force” Creator Gabe Liedman Says These Gay Superspies are ‘Grounded in Reality'

There’s a new group of LGBTQ+ superspies on Netflix and their name is Q-Force. The animated series is from creators Sean Hayes, Michael Schur and Gabe Liedman. “We tried to just be fun and crazy and create a show that’s like a little bit of an escape and a comedy,” Gabe Liedman told Gayety. “It was sort of like let’s tell stories of people that feel real to us. I based a lot of the characters off of people in my life who are real. So that made it feel to me like we were grounding it a little bit in reality while still playing around in this fantasy space.” The series follows the unlikely group of spies which include the Golden Boy Steve Maryweather (Sean Hayes), expert hacker Stat (Patti Harrison), mechanic Deb (Wanda Sykes), and master of drag and disguise Twink (Matthew Rogers) on an adventure like no other. Watch “Q-Force” now on Netflix.
