Birmingham headlines 25 November: Over 100 homeless people died in Birmingham
Figures show that more than 100 homeless people have died in Birmingham in the last five years. Of these 20 occurred last year. Shelter have called the situation across England and Wales "utterly awful and unacceptable". The ONS estimates 741 homeless people died in 2021, up 8% the year before.

Two brothers from Smethwick have been jailed for more than 18 years for running a county lines cocaine network from their home. The drug dealing duo were supplying drugs to Stoke-On-Trent and Newcastle Under Lyme. Both defendants pleaded guilty to their involvement and were sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
