Lifehacker recently offered readers a handy list of the best and the worst roads in the United States.
The list ranks every state's public roads by the total miles against the percentage of "acceptable" miles and comes up with a rating between zero and ten.
The info was taken from the Bureau of Transportation's 2020 data and compared to existing data from 2015.
These are the top five states with the worst roads in the country:
5, Hawaii (3.13/10)
4. Mississippi (2.65/10)
3, Arizona (2.4/10)
2, New Mexico (1.43/10)
The state with the worst rating was West Virginia, which was awardeda score of just .06 out of ten.
Only 70% of roads in West Virginia were found to be in an "acceptable" state.
On the flip side, the best roads in the country were found in:
5, Iowa (8.3/10)
4, Minnesota (8.16/10)
3, Virgina (7.96/10)
2, North Dakota (7.55/10)
1, Vermont (7.28/10)
