The State of Cyprus is an island country. It is located in the Mediterranean White Sea. Specifically on the trade route between Africa, Asia and Europe. Cyprus gained independence from Britain in 1960. In 1974 it was re-divided into two parts: a section for the majority of Greece's population and a section for the majority of Turkey's population.
