The Education Secretary confirmed that a commissioner will be sent to work with Solihull Council to improve children's social care following the tragic death of Arthur Labinjo-Hughes. Kit Malthouse said in a letter he was concerned about the ability of Solihull to deliver adequate services.

A man was found dead on Wednesday morning in pigeon park. Police were called to the cathedral next to Colmore Row just before 8am who cordoned off the area. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of death.
