"Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appears to have different views about India’s growing population.
Rakesh Sinha, the RSS Ideologue and Rajya Sabha member withdrew him private members bill regarding population control. He had moved this bill in 2019 and finally withdrew in April 2022 after hearing our Mansukh Mandaviya.
The Uttar Pradesh Population Control (Control, Stabilisation and Welfare) Bill 2021 was placed in the pubic domain asking for comments and section in September last year. However, comments were to be sent only through email and there was no tracking of the inputs.
UP’s bill goes totally against what the Modi government said in parliament on the issues. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told Rajya Sabha on Friday that instead of using “force (jabran)”, the government had successfully used awareness and health campaigns to achieve population control.
Though Sinha understood that it was mistake on his part to bring in such bill, Yogi Adityanath on the other hand continues pushing it in his normal brash style. The reason is to cover up governance failures blaming UP’s population. Yogi’s administration does not even understand the basic issues of India’s population.
He should realise that India does not have any issue with population any more. Yogi Adityanath’s clock is 40 years behind. If at all India has an issue with population, then one should be worrying about the declining trends which will lead to a negative growth before the end of this century.
Also, that constant bogey of Muslims overtaking Hindu’s in the near future remains the key to this disinformation campaign. It could not be farther from truth.
