Rohit Sharma's heart winning gesture after winning the trophy.India vs England live
Match-winning performances by Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya gifted India a memorable 2-1 series win against England in the third ODI at Old Trafford in Manchester, on
Sunday. Chasing a target of 260 runs, Pant hammered an unbeaten knock of 125 runs off 113 balls, which also turned out to be his maiden ODI ton. Pandya was also in top
batting form and hammered a battling knock of 71 runs off 55 balls as the visitors reached 261/5 in 42.1 overs, winning by five wickets. Reece Topley was in good form for
England and took three wickets. Initially, a four-wicket haul by Pandya helped India bowl out the hosts for 259 in 45.5 overs. Jos Buttler smashed 60 runs off 80 balls,
which included three fours and two sixes. Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets, Mohammed Siraj bagged two dismissals and Ravindra Jadeja picked one.
"Very pleased. We came here, wanted to achieve something as a group in white-ball, and we did. Moving forward there are things we need to improve but pleased with the effort.
We were here last time and we were beaten I remember. It is not easy place to come and win games but the way we played entire white-ball leg was fantastic. Wanted to do it
for a long period of time, to achieve it was brilliant."
"(Today's game) It was a good pitch, but we knew it won't be easy if we lost wickets early. It happened, but the positive is that these guys haven't batted a long period in
the middle overs and we got to see that from Rishabh and Hardik. Both of them were clinical - at no point did we feel they were panicking. They played great cricketing
shots."
