STARTING with a drum kit in her teens, Amanda Liberty has always had a special connection with objects. But it wasn’t until her late teens that she realised she was objectum-sexual - a term that means an attraction to things rather than people. She is now in a relationship with a chandelier called Lumiere and says that people don’t give her a chance to explain her unusual love interest and wants to break down the misconceptions of this type of love. The brave woman has faced countless judgements from people who do not understand her love but believes that no matter what you do, what you love or how you act, there will always be people that won't accept you - so instead she has accepted herself and has never been happier. Amanda said: “I make these films to open people's eyes, not only about objectum-sexuality but to anybody who feels like an outcast or feels different, what matters is your health and your happiness. Generally speaking, I think there's still a lot of misunderstanding in the world. But I think they’re becoming more open to difference and uniqueness. I think there's more acceptance than there was but there's certainly still work to be done. In general people find it difficult to understand and I can understand that.”
