Karnataka's 40% commission government | Let Me Explain
  • 2 years ago
The suicide of a contractor in Karnataka has exposed the state’s rampant corruption. Santhosh Patil, a small-time contractor and BJP worker, had before his death accused Karnataka Minister for Rural Development KS Eshwarappa of asking for a 40% bribe. Karnataka State Contractors Association have been alleging that government officials, MLAs, MPs have been asking for commission to pay their bills. In this week’s episode of Let Me Explain, Anna Isaac looks at why contractors are calling out the corruption in the Karnataka government and how the commission system works.
