Reid Gallery at GSA Reopens with ‘A Remix of Damage’
Reid Gallery The Glasgow School of Art, 164 Renfrew Street, Glasgow G3 6RF
International work by the Strata Collective opens at the Reid Gallery in Glasgow this
weekend (26 Feb). ‘A Remix of Damage’ is a multidisciplinary show featuring work by eight
2020 graduates from the MLitt Fine Art Practice (Sculpture pathway) at The Glasgow School
of Art.
Artists include: Alexander Anderson, Penny Anderson, Abbey Corbin, Tom Graystone,
Julia Hoogkamer, Russell McGovern, Yena Park, Alice Zonca
A Remix of Damage opens 26 Feb and runs until 12 March 2022.
The Strata Collective was established in 2020 at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. Over
the past two years, its members have worked together to find innovative and imaginative
ways to continue their practice during the pandemic. The work in this exhibition is a mix of
new work, and work that was created while studying at the GSA using casting, carving,
sound, ceramics, woodworking, textiles, and digitally and adapted ready-mades.
It illustrates the strength of their collective approach, and the creative high-level output they still
managed to achieve during lockdown.
‘A Remix of Damage’ is supported by The Glasgow School of Art as part of the School’s
commitment to support 2020 graduates with physical shows once COVID-19 restrictions
allowed.
A Remix of Damage opens on Saturday 26 February and runs until Saturday 12 March
2022. Open Mon-Sat 10am-4.30pm. Admission Free. The Reid Gallery, The Glasgow
School of Art, 164 Renfrew Street, Glasgow G3 6RF.
