Queensland health authorities say the Omicron COVID strain is quickly becoming the dominant strain in the state, with 34 locally-acquired cases recorded in the latest period. Officials have urged people to get vaccinated and receive their booster shots. The Chief Health Officer has warned cases are expected to rise, particularly as Omicron spreads.
