Karnataka church survey sparks row, Archbishop calls it ‘futile and unnecessary’

A proposed survey of churches in Karnataka in a bid to weed out unauthorised ones has sparked a row. A committee has been tasked to find out how many churches in the state are illegally established and check for forced religious conversions. Reacting to the survey, Archbishop of Bengaluru Peter Machado called it "futile and completely unnecessary", adding that no good would come of it. Watch the video.
