Toyota Mirai World Record: The Mirai car of Japanese automaker Toyota has set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance covered by hydrogen fuel. According to the report, Toyota's hydrogen-powered Mirai covered 1360 km in a single trip during a roundtrip tour of Southern California. It took two days to complete this record. The Guinness World Record was closely watched during the journey

Hypermiler, Wayne Gerdes and co-pilot Bob Winger were present during this record in the 2021 Toyota Mirai. The Guinness World Records judge, Michael Emprik, validated Mirai's tank with a seal at both the beginning and end of the journey. In addition, everything was closely monitored by Guinness World Records, following the strict rules and documentation procedures of the official record attempt.

5.65kg hydrogen consumption

The company says the Mirai consumed a total of 5.65 kg of hydrogen and logged an impressive 152 mpg with water as its only emissions. The Toyota Mirai overtook a total of 12 hydrogen stations during the entire journey without refueling. In two days of testing, it emitted zero kilograms of CO2, while a vehicle with a standard internal combustion engine would need to emit around 300 kilograms to cover the same distance.
