With the 45th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics selected Guard Juhann Begarin. A draft-and-stash player, Begarin will likely play another year overseas in France. Brad Stevens said Begarin, his first draft pick as President of Operations, is a “big, strong, versatile guard that can guard up with his athleticism.” Scouts believe he is a solid ballhandler and playmaker, but a score-first player who is inconsistent. Defensively, his length makes him a solid defender, but he can lose focus off the ball. One of the youngest players in the draft, Begarin is a 6-foot-6 shooting guard out of France with a 7-foot wingspan. In 39 games (38 starts) with Paris in LNB Pro B, the 18-year-old averaged 11.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, while shooting 45.6% from the field and 34.2% from behind the arc. Defensively, he averaged 1.4 steals per game. #Celtics #JuhannBegarin #NBADraft
