Vaccinating all by December-end ambitious but realistic: Dept of Science & Technology

Dr Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary of Department of Science and Technology expressed his opinion on the preparedness to fight against the expected third wave. According to Dr Sharma, it is very ambitious and realistic to vaccinate the majority of the population by December. We can fight any wave as long as we maintain the Covid protocol behaviour and the advanced technologies. He mentioned, “Many fronts are ramping up the production, uploading and transporting them and coming together to help fight Covid”. He added that as we are surviving Covid, we have innovated new technologies in our health care system. An antibody kit is developed at Bengaluru. There is an antigen kit that can be used at home easily”.
