Covid lockdown amplifies water crisis in Rajasthan’s villages

The rural parts of Rajasthan are seeing an acute shortage of water as soaring temperatures combined with Covid-19 lockdown has thrown life out of gear in the state. Helpless villagers have been pushed from pillar to post to arrange drinking water for themselves and their cattle. The shortage of water has been flagged to the authorities several times, but due to lockdown, no one has come to fix the tube wells that supply water to the villages.
