Gadkari clarifies Covid vaccine ramp up remark; row over reservation of 15% beds in Karnataka hospital; more

Congress on Wednesday took a dig at the Centre after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari suggested at an event that more pharma companies should be allowed to make Covid-19 vaccines in the country to scale up production.

Referring to Gadkari's remarks, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh reminded that Manmohan Singh had already written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April on ways to mitigate the vaccine shortage faced by India.

Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar's 15 percent bed reservation in Bengaluru hospital stoked controversy on Tuesday amid growing Covid-19 cases in the state. The opposition party in the state, Congress, has demanded Chief Minister to cancel such orders. For more, watch the full video.
