Jayson Tatum was interviewed after the Celtics dropped another vital game against Miami. On losing Jaylen Brown for the season, Tatum said “Obviously tough losing JB… I talked to him before, he called me, told me what was going on; weighing the options… obviously we need him and we would love to have him, but we know that health comes first.”
With the team almost certainly destined for the play-in, Tatum said “At this point we just got to play the cards that we’re dealt, we put ourselves in this position... we finish out these next three games, get the seven seed, and then at that point just figure it out.”
With Brown out, Boston will need to lean on key role players like Fournier and Nesmith. “Everybody got to step up… everybody just got to do more” said Tatum. “I’m sure that everybody’s kind of writing us off… especially losing JB and the kind of year that it’s been… myself and everybody in that locker room - we're still fighting… that’s just what’s more important, fight ‘til it’s over.”
