In Hong Kong, shumai (siu mai) is a type of dumpling that is beloved as one of the most popular street food items. You can find it anywhere in the city from street vendors to fancy dim sum restaurants. We visited Yuet Yuet Loy Lou Chu Snacks (悅來老朱小食) in Tuen Mun to find out more about this famous dumpling.

This is the third episode of our new six-part series about established mom-and-pop eateries. In the next episode, we’ll head to a small shop in Guizhou, where they specialise in handmade sticky rice cakes.
