Outgoing Hyderabad Mayor and 16 officials buy latest iPhone models at cost of Rs 27 lakh

Seventeen officials of the Hyderabad civic corporation, including the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, have bought 17 latest iPhone 12 models for themselves at a cost of Rs 27 lakh. The standing committee meeting which held a meeting this week approved 14 proposals, one of them was that of sanctioning the purchase of iPhone 12 Pro Max (512 GB) models for its 17 members. These 17 include outgoing Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin and the rest are corporators. The cost of each iPhone is approximately Rs 1.6 lakh and for the 17 iPhones, a budget of Rs 27.23 lakh was sanctioned. Interestingly, most of these committee members belong to ruling TRS party. Earlier this year, these 17 members received iPhone 11 Pro Max worth Rs 1.30 lakh each and now they are getting upgraded their phones iPhone 12 Pro Max. The terms of these members end on February 10, 2020.
