Costco Updates In-Store Mask Policy
Business Insider reports that Costco is updating its mask policy.
As of Monday, November 16, all shoppers, even those with medical conditions, will be required to wear a face mask or face shield in their stores.
Costco initiated their mask policy in May, but made an exception for people who have medical conditions.
Now, if you have a medical condition, and cannot wear a mask, you must wear a face shield in Costco.
Costco CEO Craig Jelinek wrote a note to shoppers which said, "This updated policy may seem inconvenient to some, however we believe the added safety is worth any inconvenience."
Costco's updated policy comes as COVID-19 cases recently surpassed 10 million in the U.S.
Experts say that cases will continue to surge if the U.S. government does not reintroduce more stringent restrictions.
