On November 3rd, 1991, this Norfolk Southern Steam Program's anniversary triple-header was to be the spectacle in comparison to future excursions by the next twenty years. But with the deaths of the two former Norfolk and Western chairmen, and the cancellation of the steam program in 1994, this triple-header of three steam locomotives may have been the last hurrah for the entire excursion program that started twenty-seven years ago.
