CONMEBOL President Alejandro Dominguez said in an exclusive interview with SNTV on Thursday the recent comments made by FIFA President Gianni Infantino about having "fewer tournaments, fewer teams but increased competitiveness" was "inappropriate", given the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
Infantino said on Monday that "maybe we can reform world football by taking a step back", which surprised Dominguez "a lot".
CONMEBOL announced on Thursday the organisation will transfer money in advance to the clubs that participate in the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana 2020.
The head of the South American football also affirmed that this is "a very difficult time" and, if there may be financial problems between clubs and players, "we will always work to find an agreement."
