Gujarati thepla comes from Gujarati cuisine . Thepla is a flatbread like paratha/parotha made of whole wheat flour,oil,powdered spices,gram flour/besan,methi and coriander leaves.It is kneaded with curd or chaas because of which it can be preserved for 2 to 3 days.Thepla is very good for travelling purpose as can be kept easily for 2 to 3 days.Methi thepla can be eaten as breakfast or teatime snack and can be included in lunch as well.Thepla is a very tasty and healthy dish.Today I am sharing authentic recipe of making thepla's which I had learned from one of my Gujarati friend.If you like my recipe then please don't forget to like,share and subscribe to my channel Chop n Chill.Thanks....lets start the recipe..
Ingredients for the recipe :
1 + 1/2 cup of wheat flour
1/3 cup of gram-flour/besan
1 heaped cup of finely chopped green fenugreek leaves/hari methi
1/2 cup of finely chopped green coriander leaves/hara dhaniya
3 to 4 finely chopped green chilies/hari mirch or as per taste
2 tbsp of crushed or grated garlic/lehsun
3/4 cup curd/dahi for kneading or as required
1 tsp salt/namak or as per taste
1 tsp red chili powder/laal mirch or as per taste
1/2 tsp roasted cumin powder/pisa bhuna zeera
1 tsp dry coriander/dhaniya powder
1/2 tsp asafoetida/hing
3/4 tsp turmeric powder/haldi
2 tbsp of dry fenugreek leaves/kasuri methi
3 + 1 tbsp of oil/tel
some oil or ghee for roasting thepla's
