The historical fort of ginnorgarh is located about 60 kilometers from Bhopal. It is said that Gond Shah had seven queens and Kamalapati was the chief among them. There is a hill near the fort which is famous as Asharfi hill. Historians say that soil was sourced from another place to build this fort. Every laborer who brought a piece of clay was given an Asharfi.The fort has been constructed at a height of 1975 feet above sea level in the midst of the hills of Vindhyachal. Nestled in the lap of nature and surrounded by greenery, the structure of this fort is amazing. Spread over an area of ​​about 3696 feet long and 874 feet wide, the grandeur of this fort is worth seeing. This fort attracts adventure lovers. This fort was built by the kings of the Paramara dynasty. After this, Nizam Sah gave the fort a new look and made it its capital. Gond rule was founded by Nizam Shah. Historical fort came into existence 800 years ago. Mughal and Pathan also ruled here after the Paramara and Gound rulers. Wild animals can be seen in a place full of natural forest wealth. Despite being built at such a height, water is plentiful here. The fort and its surroundings are about 25 wells and 4 small ponds which are filled with water for 12 months. The fort wall is 82 feet high by 20 feet wide. Black and green stones are scattered on the hill here. These stones were used to build the fort. There is a centuries-old cave under the fort. This cave has a cool cistern, due to which the coolness persists even in summer.
