Traditional Dutch Nieuwjaarsduik on Bonaire

This New Year's day around 60,000 people dived collectively into the icy cold sea water at Scheveningen, following a Tradition which exists since 1960. Since the late 90ties People wear the branded hats from Unox, a sausage brand. On locations on beaches and in lakes all over the Netherlands, People do this "Nieuwjaarsduik" (English: New Year's dive). So the Tradition continues on even in Bonaire, part of the Caribbean Netherlands. Where the weather conditions are anything but harsh. but see for yourself in the video.
