The 37th Basler Rheinschwimmen organised by the SLRG, the swiss live savers organisation, took place on August 15, 2017. Around 4'500 swimmers gathered to drift down the Rhein. With over 30 degrees a nice swim in the river was the perfect thing to do. After a short stroll on the board we arrived at the entry point and quickly packed our cloth in our "Wickelfisch". This unique waterproof bag which every Rheinswimmer in Basel has, will keep our valuables and clothes nice and dry. After a short adjustment moment, the river was about 20 degrees, we went in and enjoyed drifting by the Basler Münster and under the historical "Mittlere Brücke". We arrived way to quick at our exit point. So we walked up again and went for round no 2. A perfect day for a swimm in the Rhein. Please be aware the swimming in the Rhein is only for experienced swimmers. Check this site for all information about safe swimming in the Rhein: https://www.slrg.ch/de/nw/sektionen/b...
