In this video, I will discuss whether the amount spent by parents of the bride towards clothes, pieces of jewellery and marriage expenses fall within the definition of Dowry? In the case, in hand, the girl and her son found dead in unnatural circumstances. The boy and his parents were charged under section 498-A, 304-B and 306 of IPC. However, the court acquitted the boy and his parents from all the charges. I have tried to cover the argument part of the case which, advocates of both the parties have put forward before the court and the final judgment delivered by the Hon’ble High Court.
