Burnout has previously been stigmatized as a
"millennial condition." Now, it's been given an official medical diagnosis by the
World Health Organization. Burnout is characterized by "chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed." Symptoms include exhaustion, increased mental distance from work and feelings of negativity related to work. Burnout has easily gained traction in a society which glamorizes "hustling." The rising costs of living also contributes to work anxiety. Treatment for burnout may someday need to be covered by insurance.
