MANILA - Lawyer Gigi Reyes, one of the accused in the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam, spent her first night at Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan where she shared a cell with a pregnant inmate. Reyes arrived at Camp Bagong Diwa at 11:15 p.m. where her fingerprints and mug shots were taken. She was also given a yellow t-shirt with the words "BJMP detainee" printed on the back. Police said Reyes will be detained temporarily in an isolation room, measuring 1.5 by 6 meters, which is good for four inmates. The lawyer will be sharing the cell with a pregnant inmate. Inspector Aris Villaester, BJMP spokesperson, said Reyes will be staying in the room for a week as part of standard operating procedure before she is moved to a regular cell with the other Camp Bagong Diwa inmates. "Rinequest niya lang po ay higaan lang. Yung kumot tsaka unan. Katulad din ng ordinaryong kulungan, may rehas, may tamang higaan at sapat lang po ang area na yun para sa apat na tao," he said. Villaester said only relatives, counsel and close friends will be allowed to visit Reyes but only after receiving clearance. Visiting hours at Camp Bagong Diwa are from Tuesday to Fridays, 1-5 pm; Saturdays to Sundays, 9 am-5 pm. The Sandiganbayan earlier denied Reyes' request to be transferred to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center at Camp Crame where her co-accused in the pork barrel scam plunder case are detained. The anti-graft court ordered that Reyes, who had been detained in a cell at the Sandiganbayan's basement, be transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology's (BJMP) female dormitory at Camp Bagong Diwa, where maximum security inmates are held. Reyes is the former chief of staff of Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile. Both are accused of pocketing millions of pesos in pork barrel kickbacks. With a report by Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
