Singer-actress Regine Velasquez recalled the last time she was with her father Gerardo "Mang Gerry" Velasquez, who died on Monday due to a lingering illness. The singer's friends and fans know Mang Gerry as Velasquez's main supporter throughout her career from the time she began joining amateur singing competitions. Velasquez thanked everyone for the support her family has been receiving since her father passed away. Natutuwa ako," the singer said. "That was his legacy. He was able to touch many lives, he just didn't know it. Kasi mahilig 'yang magpayo," Velasquez added. The Velasquez family has set Mang Gerry's burial on Friday at the Manila Memorial Park in their home province of Bulacan. -- Mornings@ANC, February 5, 2014
