MANILA – Vhong Navarro is grateful to his leading lady Solenn Heussaff and the rest of the "Da Possessed" cast for helping him get back to work after he was mauled last January 22. Speaking on "Mornings@ANC" on Tuesday, Navarro shared that they started shooting the film late last year but they had to take a break during the Christmas season. He said it was unfortunate that he was attacked by the group of businessman Cedric Lee in January. "Grabe si Solenn, yung support niya sa akin sa movie, kasi binalik niya yung kumpiyansa ko… It's a team talaga. During the shooting ang hirap bumalik kasi para akong nagsisimula. Pero sa tulong nila, unti-unting bumabalik," he said. "Kailangan kong bilisan kasi may play date kami. Iniiwan ko muna lahat ng nangyari sa safe house ko. Kapag nasa work, naka-character na ako agad as Ramon," he added. With only a few days before the premiere of "Da Possessed," Navarro said he feels pressured because the past Star Cinema movies were big hits. "Aminado naman ako na kinakabahan ako. Ang sinasabi ko lang sa mga manonood na pinagmamalaki ko itong pelikula kasi pinaghirapan. Hindi masasayang ang pera nila kasi lahat nagtulong-tulong para mapaganda ang pelikula," he said. Directed by Joyce Bernal, "Da Possessed" tells the story of Ramon (Navarro), a simple man whose dire need for money has pushed him to pursue a career in landscape art. He then falls in love with his boss Anna (Heusaff), a perky young woman who likes Ramon's sense of humor. The conflict begins when three peculiar and restless spirits start possessing Ramon's body, leading to a series of wacky and bizarre events, similar to the tone of Navarro's previous big screen outings. Other cast members include John "Sweet" Lapus, Empoy, Smokey Manaloto, Beverly Salviejo, Lito Pimentel, Joy Viado, Matet De Leon, Aaliyah Belmoro, and Joey Marquez. "Da Possessed" is scheduled to hit cinemas on April 19.
