MANILA – Pasay City policemen have launched a hunt for at least three burglars who were allegedly seen trying to break into a pawnshop. An employee of Magdalena Pawnshop, located along Libertad Street, said he saw about three armed men in a sewerage who seemed to be making a pasage into the pawnshop, prompting him to call for help from the police. He said he was ordered by the pawnshop owner to check the sewerage because strange noise had been heard coming from beneath the road since Monday. Members of the Pasay City Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) fired several shots in an attempt to force the suspects out of the sewerage. As of posting, the suspects were allegedly at a part of the sewerage near the Estero Tripa de Galina. A certain Roel Yumol later arrived, claiming the men were his brothers. Yumul said the suspects are not armed members of the so-called "Acetylene Gang," and were only there to collect copper. Yumul then asked permission to reach his brothers, supposedly to convince them to come out. As of posting, Yumul and the suspects had yet to surface. All possible exit points were reportedly being guarded to prevent them from escaping. – report from Dennis Datu,dzMM
