MANILA – A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera captured a man stealing items from a jewelry store in Santiago City, Isabela past midnight Tuesday. The CCTV footage showed a man, with his head wrapped with his T-shirt to conceal his identity, scouring for valuable items inside Angie's Jewelry & Pawnshop in Xentro Mall in Barangay Villasis. The unidentified man was also seen searching for items inside the office of the store owner. The heist lasted for about two hours. The amount of valuables stolen by the suspect has yet to be revealed. Investigators said the suspect accessed the shop through its roof. The passageway used by the suspect was traced to the bathroom of a hotel adjacent to the mall. Police said the suspect checked in at the hotel last Sunday with another man suspected to be his cohort. Investigators are looking at a possible inside job in the heist as the suspect managed to go around the jewelry shop for a long period without being caught. The mall management, meanwhile, refused to issue a statement regarding the incident. – report from Harris Julio, ABS-CBN News Cagayan Valley
