The 56-year-old Seenappa Srinivas from Bengaluru explains how he found happiness...

“I was working in a rubber factory for 18 years and was earning only Rs 3000 a month. I was not at all happy with my work but was bound to do it because of my family. Later, I was called for a job of cleaning the swamp as a labourer which was situated around an apartment. Along with me 3 other labourers came but they all left seeing the swamp and poisonous snakes. But my passion for nature stopped me from doing so. I decided to stay and transform the swamp into a beautiful lake. I started working on the swamp day and night, watering plants, cleaning the area and also clearing the passage area for the people to walk around the lake. After working on it for years, I have transformed the swamp into a beautiful lake. It was a challenging journey for me, but I worked with honesty, dedication and God kept me safe from the hazardous environment. Today, the lake and its surroundings is a place of happiness where people of all generations come together and spend a quality time – It’s a great joy to see people enjoying something that I had single-handedly transformed to, from a treacherous swamp.” Through his action, Seenappa taught us something – that being optimistic towards life is what matters! And where there is a will, there is a way. #Seenappa #ManBehindCleaningTheLake
