New York City News Channel Sued for Age and Gender Discrimination On June 19, five anchorwomen filed a
suit against NY1, claiming age and
gender discrimination. The plaintiffs, ranging in age from 40 to 61,
are Roma Torre, Amanda Farinacci, Vivian Lee,
Jeanine Ramirez and Kristen Shaughnessy. The suit claims that since 2016, NY1 has
systematically forced them off of the air in
favor of younger, inexperienced hosts. Roma Torre,
