Lori Loughlin Now Faces
Money Laundering Charges
in College Bribe Scandal Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli,
were previously charged with paying $500,000 in
bribes to get their daughters into college. On Tuesday, the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney
announced that Loughlin, her husband and others
will also be charged with money laundering. The defendants are charged with "conspiring to launder
the bribes and other payments" through a fake charity, “as well as by transferring money into the United States,
from outside the United States, for the purpose of
promoting the fraud scheme.” According to Yahoo!, the new charge means the couple
could be facing up to 20 years in prison, three years of
supervised release and a fine of $500,000. On Monday, fellow actress Felicity Huffman, who is
charged with paying $15,000 to have her daughter's SAT
scores increased, made a deal and plead guilty.
