Allahabad party unit puts Congress in a spot

Amidst reports of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Prashant Bhushan expressing desire to contest parliamentary elections from Allahabad -- the seat which shot into prominence after the victory of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in 1984 -- focus has again shifted to the hometown of Nehru-Gandhi dynasty. Until a few days back, name of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was also doing the rounds before party leaders came out with another relatively safe and prestigious constituency, Varanasi.
