Badal backs clemency for Beant Singh's killer - NewsX

The Punjab government has agreed to seek clemency for the killer of Former state Chief Minister Beant Singh, Babbar Khalsa terrorist Balwant Singh. The Shiromani Aklai Dal Chief and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal made the announcement in the Assembly earlier in the day. He is now expected to seek a meeting with the Prime Minister and President sometime this week to put forward a formal appeal. Balwant Singh is slated to hang on the 31st of this month.
