Old farm hand Ben Connell thinks he has become a burden on his colleagues following a car accident. When he is told he needs an eye operation, he is convinced George Baxter will sack him. In desperation he rides off alone into the bush. Tom and Kate try to find him but they are too late. Chris, Tom, Geoff and Kate lament the way Baxter always seems to get what he wants.
