The RFDS vice president is due at the Crossing for annual inspection. A succession of emergencies keeps the medicos busy and they are forced to off load the VP at a remote spot when yet another emergency intervenes. There is much speculation about budget cuts and retrenchment. When an exhausted Geoff falls asleep mid-interview, all hope of funds for much needed equipment is gone and DJ fears his radio operator job is in jeopardy.
