The singer’s gospel film,
Amazing Grace, will
finally hit the big screen. Sabrina Owens, Franklin’s niece and executor of her estate, believes the film is a necessity. Sabrina Owens, via 'The New York Times' The film will premiere at
DOC NYC on November 12. The film originally couldn't be
released because the audio
and film were not in sync. Alan Elliott, one of the producers, gained the rights to the film in 2007 and was able to match the audio and footage, making the film ready for release once again. Franklin sued him in 2011
for planning to release it
without her permission. The late soul singer’s
estate is now fully
backing the release
of the film. Alan Elliott, via ‘New York Times’ Film producers are eyeing
