Gordon Could Reach Hurricane Status by Landfall

The National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane watch from Pearl River, Louisiana, to the Florida-Alabama state line on Monday, September 3, as Tropical Storm Gordon picked up steam moving past south Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico.Tropical storm warnings were in place in south Florida and from the Okaloosa-Walton County line in Florida to east of Morgan City, Louisiana, and the NHC said Gordon would be “near hurricane strength” when it makes landfall early Wednesday along the central Gulf Coast.
