Outraged continued across Basra, Iraq, on August 28, as polluted water continued to impact residents, leaving some hospitalized as a result.This footage shows a citizen outside Basra Health Directory in Iraq expressing criticism towards the government for failing to prevent and quickly respond to this outbreak.The Health Control Division of Basra Health Department said that the chemical contamination in the drinking water was 100-percent and the bacterial contamination was 50-percent, local media said.Baghdad Today said that hospital statistics showed that more than 6,000 people had been poisoned by the contaminated drinking water.
