It's been some time since I've uploaded anything, and here I come back with another portion of game music. And yes, it's Septerra Core again. Check the description below to aquire details.
This video is a simple music clip, presenting the ambient soundtrack extracted from the "Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator". The term "ambient" refers to the music being played as a level environment's background and that the player can listen to by visiting the specific places and their sublocations. Tracks of this kind are short repetitive samples and they do not play any role of themes. However, their sound makes them worth of checking out. In the game, there are only few tracks with musical arrangement, whereas the rest of them stays within more 'natural' and/or 'environmental' context.
This ambient music part was taken from the "Chosen Ruins" - an abandoned Chosen temple near the Spine, located north on Shell 6. This place can be visited only when player aquires the Lobo's ship. It can be entered anytime, however the full access to the Ruins may be obtained when Maya will be given by the Watchers a task of collecting an Ancient Chosen Talisman. To unlock the entrance, the player must first visit Shipping Transport District in the World Bazaar on Shell 4 and get through underground canals. There, an optic vine must be collected (along with other useful stuff). Once it is done, the player must return through the same way and then head to nothern regions of Shell 6. The aforementioned vine can be used with the box with lightcables near the entrance. Proceeding with this will allow Maya and her company to get the access to a location and an eventual collection of the talisman. Completion of the quest doesn't lock the Ruins, so they may be entered and explored anytime player wants.
Very interesting trivia is, that this ambient music can be also heard in some of subareas near the Core, deep underground the Mold Forest on Shell 7. The access to those can be aquired only once during a quest, when Maya and her company must get to the Core, in order to stop Doskias from proceeding with his plans there. To get there, player must get through the Mold Forest to the north and then through Mining Excavation Site. Once the quest is completed, no more accesses to the underground areas will be given.
