This video is a simple music clip, presenting the ambient soundtrack extracted from the "Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator". The term "ambient" refers to the music being played as a level environment's background and that the player can listen to by visiting the specific places and their sublocations. Tracks of this kind are short repetitive samples and they do not play any role of themes. However, their sound makes them worth of checking out. In the game, there are only few tracks with musical arrangement, whereas the rest of them stays within more 'natural' and/or 'environmental' context.
The ambient music presented in this video was taken from the Sewer Duct section, located northeast of the Chosen Capitol on Shell One. The Duct is an underground canal passage, that allows the player to get to Chosen Pallace by entering its basements first. For most the time of the game, it stays locked. As the story progresses, it can be accessed only once, when the main protagonist Maya and her company is given The Duct Key by Emperor Aspertine's daughter Alisa and her half-mechanical/half-Helghak guardian Markhan, in the Temple of Azziz. Synchronously, Maya is also given another mission. Her objective is to find the Plans of Doomsday Device, located in the Emperor's Main Hall in the Chosen Pallace. Once the plans are obtained, Maya must come back to her teacher's temple and give them to him. Those plans will let the protagonist interrupt further operations of Lord Doskias, the game's main antagonist. Accomplishing this quest will also lock the Sewer Duct again, as the hero must return through the same path, she came in. After exiting the Duct, no more accesses will be given to the player throughout the rest of the game's story.
