ಸೋಮವಾರವೆಂದರೆ ಶಿವನಿಗೆ ಅತಿ ವಿಶೇಷದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ. ಸರಳ ಪೂಜೆಗೆ ಒಲಿಯುವ ಭಕ್ತ ವತ್ಸಲ ಶಿವನಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಶಿವ ಶಿವ ಎಂದೇ ಉಚ್ಛರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಶಿವನೂ ಕೂಡ ತನ್ನ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಬೇಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸಾದಿಸುವ ವರದಾತ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶಂಭೋ ಎಂದು ನಂಬಿ ಬಂದ ಭಕ್ತರ ಕೈಬಿಡದ ಕರುಣಾ ಸಿಂಧು ದಯಾಳು ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಶಿವ ಭಗವಂತರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಸೋಮವಾರದ ದಿನಗಳಂದು ಭಕ್ತರು ಶಿವನ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
