Khairy, Anifah Aman choose to stay as other opposition MPs walk out

Umno and PAS lawmakers have staged a walkout protest to oppose the appointment of Dewan Rakyat speaker Mohamad Ariff Md Yusof.

This followed the MPs questioning if Ariff’s appointment fulfilled the stipulated 14-day notification to the house before the sitting.

Despite the walkout, it is learned that Anifah Aman (Umno-Kimanis) and Khairy Jamaluddin (Umno-Rembau) remained in the house.
